Are you hoping to:

  • Save your relationship?

  • Learn how to ask your partner to better meet your needs?

Couples, pre-marital, and marital counseling all share one thing:  a safe place to share, talk, question, and express your feelings and concerns within the context of your relationship.  As a therapist, my goal is to help you discover ways to change your relationship from one that is surviving to one that is thriving.

By learning new skills, discovering new ways of relating to each other, and understanding how your partner sees and hears you, your relationship can become stronger and healthier.

When we fall in love, we tend to idealize our partner.  We do not see the differences but, rather, focus on our similarities.  As our relationship endures the test of time, these differences become more and more obvious and may become the cause of conflicts.  We may find ourselves focusing on our negative past experiences together and believing that the "grass would be greener" with someone else.  When we start down this pattern of thinking, it is time to make some changes.  Finding ways to appreciate each other, new ways of understanding and empathizing with each other, and new tools to help manage conflict are some of the ways couples may improve their overall experiences in their relationship.

My typical session is 50 minutes, but I do allow 75 minutes for couples sessions, if requested.
