Therapy is a place to feel known and understood. It is also a place to overcome painful experiences. I am committed to working deeply and gently with your life story and issues, while understanding the beauty and the brokenness in your unique story. Whether you are struggling with short-term or lifelong challenges, we will find ways to address them. Each of us deserves to know what it feels like to be supported during life's challenges, and that is what I am offering to you.
Together we will work to gain a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. We build on your strengths so you can learn to apply them toward healing, growth, and change. Perhaps you are high functioning in certain areas but struggling in others; perhaps you are wanting to make meaningful connections or find your voice in a relationship; therapy is a place where these things can happen.
I am NOT a smile and nod Austin therapist; that's just not my style. Instead, I roll up my sleeves and get in the "storm" with you. I have heard it all, so I am not afraid to talk about anything you want to talk about. Depression. Abuse. Cellulite. Sex. Money. Just say it; there is nothing to be ashamed about in my office. It is a safe and confidential place to be honest. I offer a private exit to further protect your confidentiality.
It is likely that you and I will work well together if you are motivated to learn about yourself and discover new behaviors and new thought patterns. It is important to remember that change is a journey, not a destination.
